You are the time worn pages of my favorite book.   – Mary Anne Radmacher

“I think the most rewarding relationships, the ones that last, are born from friendship. One day you look at the person and see more than you did the night before, like a switch was flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is suddenly the only person you can imagine yourself with.”

– “Dana Scully” in The Rain King episode of The X-Files (1999)

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate now knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.
~Samuel Paterson~

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

– Eleanor Roosevelt

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.

– Elbert Hubbard

To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.    – Eleanor Roosevelt

No matter how spiritual we are, our lives will have challenges. We will always run into people that are different that we are, but the true challenge may be in finding ways to be at peace with this process. Rather than give in to the fight or flight response that comes from our animal nature, we can find new ways to evolve together into higher more beautiful expressions of ourselves, realizing, embracing and celebrating the beauty of diversity and the strength it offers for the future.

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical
substances: If there’s any reaction, both are transformed.”

– Carl Jung

Three keys to more abundant living: caring about others, daring for others, sharing with others.
