“… the human spirit, as it moves toward spiritual health, knows intrinsically that the artisan process is better for the soul than any process that moves toward mass production.”

“I prefer to remain unenlightened, to better appreciate the dark.”

– The Night Circus by Erin  Morgenstern

The small man builds cages for everyone he knows. But the sage, who has to duck his head when the moon is low, drops keys all night long for the beautifull and rowdy prisoners.

Story is my drive…Sound is my guide to inner knowledge…Soul is my constant companion teaching me graciousness…Home is the place I seek and sometimes see…Water nourishes my body…Wind leads me where I need to be…and Fire sparks the power in me to change.

The first rule is to keep an untroubled spirit.   The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are.

But if you have nothing at all to create, then perhaps you create yourself.  – Carl Jung

We begin life with the world presenting itself to us as it is. Someone – our parents, teachers, analysts – hypnotizes us to “see” the world and construe it in the “right” way.  These others label the world, attach names and give voices to the beings and events in it, so that thereafter, we cannot read the world in any other language or hear it saying other things to us. The task it to break the hypnotic spell, so that we become un-deaf, un-blind and multilingual, thereby letting the world speak to us in new voices and write all its possible meanings in the new book of our existence.

– Sidney Jourard
